One of the problems today for activism is that not many people get out in the streets nowadays. It is much easier to sit behind a computer screen and comment. But this is no threat to the powers that be. No heads need to get busted up in cyberspace. Comments on the internet can be ignored by and/or edited for television.

I was in High School when this song came out. If we only knew then what we know now. Gulf of Tonkin never happened, it was only a lie to start war for profits. Today wars against Muslim nations resulted from the 9-11 attacks, another big lie. Mossad attacked us on 9-11, blamed it on Muslims using their citizen/agents who control nearly every department and agency in our government. They blocked investigations, destroyed evidence to bring us more wars to fight for Israel and the Rothschild Mafia

@KRAZYKLOWNKEN I think that few but the most ardent pacifists would ever oppose the idea of a country fighting back when attacked. Certainly it's hard to argue against the right of self-defense. I think the idea in this song is that it's lamenting the fact that nations start wars in the first place and have to BE defended against. It looks forward to a time when sane people will be in charge (I know that sounds like a pipe dream!) and people in general will be past the war impulse.
